Vindicator- The Dog Beneath The Skin [Slaney Records; 2009]

That one is really impressive ! The Dog Beneath The Skin is Vindicator’s EP ( or maybe I shall say single?) released just after their debut album. And propably band’s best work.
Title song has been at first recorded to be published at split with Metal Witch. In this review I’ll focus mostly on this track, because remaining two songs (There Will Be Blood and Fresh Outta Hell) has been already published on band’s first album.
Everything here rules- vocals, riffs, solos, drumming. I just regret that it’s only three songs long. It shows some Megadeth inspirations, but everything is played with more agression, and in general- we’ve got here a preview of path, that Vindicator will follow later. Just after first few second I knew that it’ll be killer- speed guitar parts and fast solo- that’s always a great way to start, especially, when it’s followed by great vocal. And after few seconds- another guitar solo ! But what I really love here is Jesse’s work on drums- violent, precise, interesting, yet not too complicated. If you ever wonder how thrash drumming should sound like- there is an answer.
The Dog Beneath The Skin is a great prologue to amazing second LP- The Antique Witcheries. Without any doubts Vindicator is one of the best bands from the second wave of thrash. I highly recommend this one!
