Few days ago I published here a review of Devastacion’s second LP. Now it’s time for Argentinian veterans again! Decadencia/Maquinarias De Poder is a compilation of two classic demo tapes recorded in 1993 and 1996.

Let’s start for one really important thing- Devastacion does not know the meaning of word “mercy”. Brutal, fast compositions, from beginning to the end. Dirty, evil sound and devilish vocals. Everything here is just prepared for playing live gigs- 90% of riffs here are made for moshing. This compilation shows much more violent face of band, that their LPs (and we already know, that they LPs are not full of calm, peaceful music ;) ). As on full-length album band was closer to thrash, that they are much more death-metal oriented. But it’s not only fast kick in the face- both mini albums have a really dark and grim atmosphere, which combined with all these aggression gives us a perfect recipe for an excellent extreme metal album. My favourite song from that compilation is “Barrio Gris”

If you want to start your adventure with this amazing band- Decadencia/Maquinarias De Poder is a best way to do that. Here we’ve got Devastacion’s best form. Mature, violent and grim. To describe it in one word- metal.
