Firegarden- demo 2013 [Self-release; 2013]

Please no, no more. I understand, that there are other music genres than oldschool metal. I even wrote reviews for more rock-oriented bands here, which I really appreciated (like Burning Saviours). But not this time.
This demo is Firegarden’s first release. And how it sounds? Like cheap, polish rock for rebellious teenagers- which is faaaar beyond my taste (and well, if you’re reading this zine I guess that not only beyond mine). Simple compositions without any aggression or atmosphere, nothing special. After listening to that demo twice I remembered absolutely NOTHING from it (well, maybe except the fact, that I did not enjoyed that CD).
And now the sound- I understand it’s a demo and a first record ever- but band should put more attention to the studio work. Drums sounds horrible here. But final nail to the coffin here is the vocal. I don’t talk only about the way it was mixed (but it sounds like singer’s voice has been cutted off from the another album, it’s even hard to talk about mix here). One of the most annoying voices I’ve heard last months. Listen to songs like “Dystopia” or “Czwarty Jeździec”- my ears are bleeding. Not everyone should sing- here we’ve got a proof.
Really sorry to write it to the band from my country- but this demo is really bad. Studio work, vocals, compositions. Everything here goes along with fact, that in this music there is nothing original at all. Sounds a bit like taking inspirations from worse bands you can find in our country.
