TAURUS- Fissura [Metal Soldiers Records; 2010]

Recent years brought as a lot of AMAZING thrash comebacks. Look for example at Heathen’s “Evolution Of Chaos” or Attomica’s “4”. Old, classic bands proved, that they still got the spirit and showed how this music should look like. Unfortunately- there were some reunions and comebacks that showed bands with absolutely no power. In this review we’re going to focus on a band from the second category. Anyone remember Taurus from Brazil? Old speed/thrash, with a really good debut album (Signo de Taurus).
And how this band’s sound today? Boring. Every composition here is without spirit, probably all these years of break didn’t gave Taurus at least one idea for their music. But they’re still trying. But it looks more like, that they gave promise to record one more album, that they really want to do it. Uhhh, it’s really nothing special, not even one good riff. Same with vocals- the power is gone somewhere. The only good thing about this album is bonus part- live version of some old songs. And well, from one hand- this is the only listenable part of the album, from the second it shows how big is the difference, and makes Fissura sounds even worse. Too bad. This band should stay dead. Sorry Taurus- I liked your old stuff- but this one is terrible. A group of veterans trying to prove that the still “got it”. They don’t.
