Possessor- City Built With Skulls [Slaney Records; 2012]

A lot of people hates new thrash bands, saying that they’re just ripping-off over and over
again. Personally I’m just happy, that there are a lot of fresh bands, that plays in a killing, old-school way. American Possessor is just one of the best examples we can find for it.
Riffs, guitar sound and compositions are taken straight from Eternal Devastation, but not only. Possessor isn’t afraid to add some heavy elements to classic thrash. Let me just give here two names- Metal Church and Nasty Savage. Everything mixed in a really nice way. Americans caught the best way to create a thrash nowadays- they developed their own style, but it’s 100% based on a classical inspirations. And their influences are really strong. Destruction riffing, vocals somewhere between David Wayne and Nasty Ronnie, great solos and big ammount of aggression. Just to put everything in one word- this album is a killer. Well-mixed killer, the spirit of old school is present in every single sound here.
To combine- City Built With Skulls is one of the most interesting albums in recent years. Heavy metal feeling dressed in thrash violence, good vocals, totally old-school sound, nice musical skills and compositions. I can recomend this album to every reader- you’ll like what you see. I’m listening to Possessor for days and I still can’t play anything else. This album rules
