Last years are full of surprising reunions. Just take a look at this one- could anyone expect one of Denmark’s classics-  Witch Cross to come back after so many years?
And they returned in a really good condition ! Axe To Grind is a piece of greatly played, classic heavy metal ! Like the time stopped for them! This band didn’t get any older, it’s still powerful music, with amazing guitar riffs and solo duels ! Kevin Moore is also in a great form- he sounds totally like good, old Biff ! Well, there are a lot of Saxon influences at new Witch Cross album. But they didn’t forgot their style, hell no! And they still know how to write the songs, that stuck in a head for a long time. I don’t believe that anyone will forget chorus from “Metal Nation (Raise Your Hands)”.
So believe me- this band didn’t get any older. Even a bit. “Axe To Grind” is another REALLY strong classic metal album.  Witch Cross gave us another proof, that there is no need for innovations, when classic style is the best thing, that we can hear. Let’s just hope that band is as powerful live as it is on that record. Strongly recommended for every heavy metal maniac, this CD will be a classic in few years !
