TheFinnishsceneis still active and offers many valuable bands. ALTAR STOMER is a band which, I think, ought not to go unnoticed. This unholy two – piece band has been carrying the banner of Hell, preaching the Satanicgospels since 2010. From the abyssalHades have emerged four new tracks. Right from the beginning, these tracks remind me of metal hymns praising Satan himself. First comes “Slother in Holt Paradise” with a keyboard introduction.

This track sounds raw with an extremely raw sounding riff, simplicity becomes strength here, and when combined with raw sound and the Beherit– like vocal – well, it sounds damn good. That’s the black metal I like, not this fucking chaos some other bands create. There is a deadly atmosphere, mid and slow tempos. It all flows well, in this march – like tempo. On occasions, one can hear some distant DARKTHRONE`s influences with the little keyboard in the background. “Conqueror of the Cross” is a definitely slower track.

“Coffin Intruder” is totally different and reminds of VON/BEHERIT, though it ismoremelodic. Theminimal use of keyboard creates an interesting atmosphere. The material ends with “Sacrificial Metal” that carries a big load of emotions. A simple, but memorable riff is a strong point on this song. It all is pretty impressive and, first and foremost, does not tire a listener at all. Check out this band. These guys have a couple of demos out.
