TRENCHROT- Necronomic Warfare CD 2014 Axe Records

Nice to see there are bands like TRENCHROT from Philadelphia these days. They were formed three years ago. “Necronomic Warfare” is an explosive blend of European (Swedish and Dutch) death metal. You can hear some ASPHYX, which means a meaty sound and the vocals remindingthese of Martin van Drunen`s. It’s a lethal combination – solid and powerful riffing, thick sound, some slower, doom`ish parts and characteristic solo guitar parts reminding ofearlyENTOMBED or DISMEMBER.
There are apparently no weak tracks here. Every single cut is DESTRUCTION. Hard to believe this album was released just a year ago. It is strange that the band itself is American, but does not sound that American at all. “Necronomic Warfare” is pure death metal to the bone, no plastic sounding shit here, or any other crap that so many American bands are known for. The TRENCHROT debut stands out of the crowd of numerous American bands. You can feel the power in their music, total sincerity and classical influences.
There is no polished sound here. There is dirt and there is tar, ok. These tracks fucked me up really well. Righty right, it must be noted that beside 8 tracks that this “Necronomic Warfare” consists of, there is also a three song demo from 2013 added as a bonus – and this demo works ok with this album! All those who`ve not listened to TRENCHROT before, well, you guys ought to do it ASAP. I can guarantee your lives will be much different!
