This year has passed 14th year of this band’s career. How fast that time goes, and along with it thrashers from SUICIDAL ANGELS. “Divide And Conquer” is their fifth full-lenght album, and in the same moment third with cover art created by such a great artist as Ed Repka. His works gives the new standard, associated with a great music. He made cover art for such a great as DARK ANGEL, POSSESSED, AGENT STEEL, DEATH, SANCTUARY, MEGADETH and so on, and so on. It seems right, that SUICIDAL ANGELS joined that group. I can’t recall a bad album with an cover art created by that artist. Musical layer of the album must go along with graphical. Even if graphica layer isn’t the most important thing here, in this case it creates coherent whole. SUICIDAL ANGELS are veterans, it’s a great name itself. I’ve seen them live couple of times, and every time I was impressed by that four metal freaks playing really energetic thrash. Although SUICIDAL ANGELS are young musicians, they build really coherent and strong machine. From album to album they surprise me with their freshness and a great skill of infecting audience by their madness during the gigs. They can make even a dead man wake up to join the pit under the stage. “Divide And Conquer” is much more mature album, with a lot of aggressiveness. It’s still really fast music, but not that brutal as it was for example on “Bloodbhath”, where band mixed stylistics of old SLAYER and KREATOR. “Divide and Conquer” is much more influenced by METALLICA, especially in case of lead guitar parts. Despite that little similarities “Divide And Conquer” is kinda fresh album, yet marked with 80’s. which isn’t anything bad. It gives music additional power. I appreciate new SUICIDAL ANGELS songs, we can here there a big progress, especialy in arrangements. We can also hear a progress of playing still more and more conscious musicians, who during all that years toughen and get more confidence. This album is a new chapter in the history of the band, which already builded a strong position on musical market. SUICIDAL ANGELS name is known in the whole world. Band intensively worked for their success through the years. Current line-up seems like a really strong and permanent, which can surprise sometimes. Great parts of guitarists Chris Tsitsis and Nick Melissourgos, with a charactericis, strong vocals and remarkable bass of Aggelos Lelikaikisa or under the drum storm of Orpheas Tzortopoulos is still a thrash metal mictured creating an explosive called SUICIDAL ANGELS. It’s the quartet that can explode with an amazing intensivity live, and despite the total expression can play with almost unhuman precission. Just to recall gig in Cracow, which happened not long time ago, where guys played from new album for example “Marching over Blood”, “Seed of Evil” or the title song. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that Japanese edition have two bonus songs- “Crematory” and “Slaughter Christianity”
