BLACK TORA-Black Tora CD Spiritual Beast 2014

When I heard for the first time this hitting with energy album of Texas trio BLACK TORA it throwed me to my knees. There’s been a long time since someone played such a great Rock’n’Roll with such a strong Hard Rock stylistics. It have a great power with a characteristic for american bands chatchiness , and even if it’s my first meet with BLACK TORA, after listening to it couple of times I went crazy about that band. BLACK TORA’s music is a perfect tribute to 80’s music, and as I’m a bit sentimental person, BLACK TORA’s music caught my heart, especially that band isn’t afraid to take inspirations from SKID ROW/VAN HELLEN or JUDAS PRIEST. And they do it really good. Great, oldschool productions make album sound like it was recordd in 1984/85. Meaty, fat guitar sound, deep, non-triggered drums or finally characteristic vocal of Chris Daniels, connected with remarkable guitar solos can take over the listener. And how it’s possible to disbelief, that trios create the most interesting music? That 13 compositions if a perfect proof. Except eight basic songs Japanese edition gives a bonus- EP “Raise Your Fist” from 2012. And I’ll tell you, that these 5 songs are a perfect way to finish that fenomenal album. Also great backing vocals Parts of Razor Dave and Nick X, who supports vocally Chris Daniel get my attention. Such Rock’N’Roll can full a man with such a big load of possitive energy, that I can’t stop being shocked how much POWER it has. It’s a great album for gloomy, deppresive day. You play this CD and in a moment you get a smile, that keep until the end of the day. Can it be a better cure for a sad, winter day, when there is a dirt in the city, that marks everything, that portion of great music? Opening “Attack” from the beggining runs as the Angel of Hell on his steel stallion. Great, inspirational song with a big load of possitive energy.  “Heart Of Fire” is a catchy song with really interesting solo that stayed in my memory for a long time. “Feed My Ego” is a swinging Rock’N’Roll. Not too complicated structure gives an expresiveness to that song. “Freedom Rider” is here an interesting, a bit heavier song. Acoustic parts associated with a BON JOVI a bit, but in case of BLACK TORA it sounds much heavier. “Fuel My Hunger” is one of my favourites on this album. It has a kick in a style of JUDAS PRIEST. Fast, yet melodic songs with a remarbale chorous. And how not tho mention a sparky solos? “Break Down The Wall” is another composition, which doesn’t miss some kind of pugnacity. It keeps listener to high voltage, so it’s hard to sit in one place. “Born To Play Loud” is keeped in VAN HALEN atmosphere song that pomps inside a listener unlimited portions of energy. It’s impossible to be indifferent to such a great music, with that backin vocals in style of QUIET RIOT from the times of “Metal Health” or “Condition Critical”. “The Rocker” closes basic version of the album. It’s also a rock’n’roll song with a very subtle solo. My jaw went to the ground-level. How powerful is this song! I’m really happy, that it’s not over, here comes the first song from the bonus EP. “Never Enough” is a hard sounding, pure composition. This material is full of heaviness, greatly balanced with a melodic backing vocals. Wealth of atmosphere, great solos, remarkable arrangements or finally great level of catchiness gives everything a big power. In “She Drives Me Crazy” there is nothing to complain about. This song is a piece of solid Hard Rock. “Shadows Of The night” is another song in a lazy tempo on this album. Listening to these songs I think that EP is much heavier than allbum itself, but I don’t take it as a disadvantage. “Rise Your Fists” is for variety a much faster song, waking associations with SKID ROW. “Wild Child” is a closing, pure Rock’N’Roll. Ths album is one of the most interesting positions I’ve heard since “Slave To The Grind” from SKID ROW. BLACK TORA effecitvely smashed me to the floor.
