I don’t have to convince anyone that RUNNING WILD is one of the most important bands of the German Metal Scene. What Rock 'n' Rolf has been doing has always inspired plenty of younger bands, right? And STOLLION is one of these bands. They formed just two years ago, but they`re doing alright and play some solid Heavy Speed Metal, totally unrelated to present trends.
This is a true anthem glorifying the year of 1985. I’ll be honest with you and say I got hooked. I was so happy to listen to such an old school sounding album. I am really impressed with such young people with metal hearts, who are fanatically able to recreate the spirit of classic metal. You can hear RUNNING WILD here, as well as ACCEPT and JUDAS PRIEST – it`s all good. STOLLION`s guitar work is really impressive. “Rise and Ride” is my first encounter with this highly promising band. They have released a demo and two 7 inch singles so far. There is a bonus track “Life Is a Bitch” if you`ve got the Japanese version.
Well, after I have listened to this album thoroughly, I realize I have to catch up with their previous materials. I love music like that one, this is my air I breathe. It is really good that there emerge new bands who`ve been glorifying the old-school traditions and have been listening to a lot of old-school metal. Where are all these who`ve said METAL IS DEAD, HUH? METAL WILL NEVER DIE!
