EMPTINESS is a really interesting belgian band, that creates a realy complex and well-thought music. Atmosphere oscillate somewhere between black and death metal,  but it doesn’t hold only therse two, striking very often beyond the frames of previously mentioned genres. Wealthiness of mixing atmospheres is enchanting preciselly played music, powerful sound and extensive arragements is a true masterpiece. “Nothing But The Whole” hits with maturity and takes listener away from first, to the last note. Grim, dark atmosphere is flowing over album, as the aura between the graves.
Bit advantage of this album are well-accented guitar pats. Deep, almost whispering vocals are strongly increasing the atmosphere. There are some times industrial elements, really subtly coming into EMPTINESS’ music. Band with a true master way juggles between the styles. “Nothing But The Whole” is fourth full-lenght album of Belgians and probably the most mature. I think, that you should reach for that album and get closer interest to EMPTINESS’ music. It’s a really extraordinady
