Interior Of Death- Human Infestation [Self-released; 2013]

It’s good to see that a lot of death metal bands are active right now in my country. Interior Of Death is one of them. “Human Infestation” is a third album of that formation, so it’s time to take a closer look on it.
It’s really easy to point at Interior Of Death’s biggest inspiration- Bolt Thrower. A lot of elements are similar to that legendary death metal warmachine, not only the lady on the bass ;) Compositions, vocals, solos- reminds a lot of Coventry’s finest band. Unfortunately, Interior still has a lot to improve if they want be second Bolt Thrower. Even if there is the same kind of epicness in the songs, there’s a lack of power. Mostly because of a bad drummer, playing without any aggression, which connected to flat sound of his instrument doesn’t give the best effect. Also compositions could be much heavier. They should remind of a 20 tones hammer falling slowly and smashing face. They’re not. Don’t get me wrong, “Human Infestation” isn’t a bad album, really. It shows a great potential, but clearly band needs to put more attention, this could be done a way better. The good things here are vocals. Karpiu’s voice have a lot in common with (yep, another Bolt Thrower influence) Wallets’ voice. Last song (except outro) on this album is Sepultura cover- “Refuse/Resist”. As probably biggest Sepultura fan on earth I approve this one.
So let me put everything into a single conclusion. Great inspirations, and Interior Of Death knows how to follow them. Band should be paying more attention to the heaviness of the songs. If you read this- keep on going ! I’m curious how they will sound on the future albums. And pay more attention for the drums. Right now this album is at “OK-level”, but there are a lot of reasons, that I believe that next one will literally kill. WM
