METALIATOR - Spalone Miasto [self-released; 2013]

Guilty as charged, I have never followed this band too much. Yeah, I have been aware of their existence and seen them live, on two separate and unrelated, timewisely, to each other occasions. But, never have I had a chance to listen to their studio materials and I gotta be frank with you now, I listened to Spalone Miasto a couple of times, at a very relaxed pace, yes, just while working on this review. Well, it means two years after this album was out.

I am nicely surprised – as I was expecting some typical average thrash – plenty of these around recently. Well, what I got here on this cd is pretty nice, heavy and powerful thrashing. Sure, this stuff is totally unoriginal – well, so what? Old bands still rule, don’t they? I can hear some Destruction, Holy Moses -a little bit too (not only because of female vocals). As for the vocals – Mila has got a good vocal and a great potential which needs some polishing – I would say his clean vocal parts are somehow weaker whereas aggressive ones are great. It all sounds good and is going to be better, I reckon. Oh, I wanna say Polish written lyrics are in plus too.

It all just runs forward, no complaints. Yeah, some ideas have been used before, it goes without saying, yet it is, overally, still pleasant to listen to. As said, this powerful, deep sound of this EP makes this material even stronger. Generally speaking, I am impressed, and waiting for the follower of Spalone Miasto – been a while, right?
