ATOMIC AGGRESSOR- Sights of Suffering CD Hells Headbangers 2014

Chilean ATOMIC AGGRESSOR heralds its presence once again, and this time they infect our minds with a full length album of theirs – “Sights of Suffering”. This material was released exactly 30 years after the band was born. So far, we have had a chance to enjoy their demos, 7 eps, split releases and compilations. Now, however, this band has decided to record a full length album. I`ll tell you something, it was worth waiting for this stuff, really. This album is totally suffused with dark, old school death metal atmosphere a `la early MORBID ANGEL – well, in case of ATOMIC AGGRESSOR, it would be an utter simplicity to say so, though, yeah. These Chilean guys don’t try to hide how much they`re fascinated with the Floridian band. However, they don’t copy `em mindlessly – just try to recreate the atmosphere from the early MA`s albums. In result, their music get this specific feeling of completion. It all has been performed with finesse. Complex guitar parts, broken rhythms, dense riffs and unusual intensity plus an extraordinary vocal of Alejandro make “Sights of Suffering” awesomely sharp. At the same time, yes, this stuff doesn’t lack any diligently performed technical completeness. There is a lot going on, here on this very album. There is time for some venom as well as some interesting slowdowns. While listening to this album I just can’t comprehend how much there’s going on. These 30 years’ worth of work has resulted in a totally “devastating – it – all” effect. The massive sound of this stuff just knocks you down, all tracks have been played with a master-like approach. Every single track here is able to damn treat you like a whore, and whip you with the solos – these are cutting the air like some Toledo blades. The 10 tracks “Sights of Suffering” consists of is, indeed, an old school kind of killing. Don’t expect to take a breather, it all just runs forward like crazy. And it all is just totally full of technical nuances. That’s a black gem in the Satan’s crown and one of more interesting albums spawned in the Chilean scene which never stops to amaze with its abundance of bands. I totally recommend this album! LWS.
