Nihilist Holocaust French ATAVISMA`s debut album possessed me as soon as I started listening to it. This band plays totally old school death metal with this characteristic filthy Swedish sound similar to early Entombed/Dismember. Well, still, the stuff I am talking of is musically heavier a lot; it, as well as, has been produced in a totally filthier and more obscure way. The vocal here fucking smashes your brains out. I am fully impressed that it is possible to play like this nowadays, I mean to be able to produce such an archaic and corpse-like atmosphere in one`s music. Total fucking destruction and annihilation. Yes, I think it is a good idea to follow this band`s doings; this band knows the ropes when it comes to classic death metal. They do it with class, producing a fucking awesome piece of music. Ok, let’s take a quick look at their label, shall we. Nihilist Holocaust can smell good, non-commercial bands with ease, no dount about it, right. And ATAVISMA is one of the label’s strongest points. “Where Wolves Once Dwelled” is four tracks and 20 minutes of music which is, damn, not enough.
