EVIL INVADERS- Pulses of Pleasure CD Spiritual Beast 2015

When I found, on the website of the European label which released this album, a comparison to RAZOR, and I am not talking only about the coincidence between the Canadians` ageless second album from 1985 and the band`s name, well, I did look forward to listening to this material in result. The Japanese edition of this album was a surprise. It is excellent music but it has no connection with RAZOR whatsoever. Another thing which made me curious about EVIL INVADERS was their live show they performed together with Krakow`s ROADHOG. Well, I got hooked by these Belgians, immediately. This music is perfect when performed live. What is even more, they young guys are very slick playing concerts! Ok, let`s talk about the album itself, shall we? EVIL INVADERS formed back in 2007 and these guys worship, more or less I must stress, the classic form of speed metal. They are slightly influenced by power metal too, but these influences are well connected with the rest of their music and it all seems very compact. EVIL INVADERS do not attempt to stay where they are, they look for a right direction, and so far, they`ve been doing it all right. This stuff is melodic, I agree, yet there`s a lot of fire here in this material. Hard to believe how easy it is for these young lads to perform such complex fragments. There is a lot going on! Amazing solos are this album`s strong points. There are a great number of influences from NWOBHM in this music, especially from IRON MAIDEN; well, and from several other too! You can sense some old RUNNING WILD, and a bunch of other classic bands. Yeah, these days, it is kind of hard to play music which is not, to a certain degree, influenced by the bands which the members of a particular band set as their example. Anyways, I am very impressed how these young fellows are able to handle their instruments. What a professional outfit they really are. Please don’t forget about the Joe`s screechy vocal who, at the same time, fucking smashes the six string guitar of his, and does it with class. This guy must undergo a fit of ADHD every time he plays live shows, and the other members too, I guess. Got to mention the Japanese edition comes with a very cool track, “Eye of the Storm”. LWS.
