ANABOTH`s music has never been your typical black metal and thus is hard to label. These Cracovians have never been afraid of experimentation and this is perhaps why their music is so intriguing. Nothing typical, that’s for sure! Scierwo o Bruk offers pure black metal power, eh, as well as plenty of different musical approaches too (death, doom, stoner and crust punk).
Lyrically, Devil has his say here too. Moloch, the vocalist, sings in Polish – his voice is strong, emotional. The bane of hatred oozing from loudspeakers defiles all that`s sacred. The sound is massive, very dense and able to knock you down, you know, with its sheer power. Interestingly, Moloch was before responsible for bass lines (on this material it was PVF), but this time he played the guitar parts and did it really well.
Scierwo o Bruk is a relentless attack on your sanity; fucking mayhem which tells you not to forget your place you mugs. No time to take a breather, just pure fucking extermination. On the flip side, the richness of sounds is splendid, it is not just some sort of one-dimensional battering-like-fuck music, but well-thought yet not overly complicated sonic stuff.
It is been five years since their Pomiędzy Światami has been out and I’ll tell you this band haven’t wasted their time. They`ve progressed like hell instead. Devil himself will be proud of ANABOTH.
