Damn, I was so happy when I played this French SKELETHAL`s debut album for the first time. True, I heard a little about those guys but what I heard killed me totally! Guys, this is Swedish death metal, reeking early 90s as fuck! Hell, that’s my little impression of this highly promising band! Not too fast, pitch black tempos, obscure sound so peculiar to Sweden, you know, this guitar noise and ultra-grave`ish vocal. Plus, some chaotic but perfectly suitable solos. Hell, this fucking stuff is a real blast! This is how death metal ought to be played. This is rotten yet energetic as hell. A perfect vibe! Barbaric, well balanced and tight! Awesome, in other words. Drumming is fuckin old school, no plastic, artificial or triggered shit here. Amazing! I am already obsessed with this band; to tell you the truth, I have been listening to plenty of music and it aint easy a task to surprise me. But DEATHCULT some time ago and now SKELETHAL crush! 11 tracks in total, no fillers and a nice DISMEMBER cover track – Soon to be Dead as well as rerecorded Macabre Oblivion from their ep titled Deathmanicvs Revelation. Damn, this stuff is good, really. Get this no matter what. Support bands like SKELETHAL since bands like this one stand for passion, sincerity and expression! They love old school metal, for sure!
