In general, I am not a fan of re-recorded tracks that have already appeared on other releases, unless they were demos, then it makes sense to me. But this time we are talking about the numbers that appeared on 2010 COMMUNION’s first EP. I remember the first time I got this stuff, it made a great impression on me, and it stays strong to this day. I think that these numbers, by their rawness, gave this record more resonance. You could simply feel the Devil’s presence. Of course, the new versions are not devoid of this evil element. They’re cool to listen to, but was it necessary to reach for them once again? I do not know. Anyway, the music is really good, so there’s no reason to complain. After all, the Devil is in the details. This release contains also some re-recorded tracks we already know from their first ‘Glorify the Dark’ demo or the ‘Fire Worship’ EP. Generally, as I mentioned earlier, it sounds quite decent and I think that in the end it is worth having on your shelf, though I would definitely prefer this material on vinyl. For now, we must settle for the CD version.
The perfect combination of Oldschool Thrash Metal with a large dose of Devil makes this release a strong blow. I can only imagine how these material kills live. I hope that someday I would see these Chileans in action.
