GRAVELORD- I CD 2018 Putrid Cult

So, we have finally gotten a local, I mean Polish, band who can provide us with the proper rock’n’roll atmosphere influenced by the ruler of hell himself. The debut album of this Gdansk’s trio is, in simple words, homage paid to old-school metal – inspired by such bands as MIDNIGHT, SPEEDWOLF or BEWITCHED. The music isn’t too innovative for sure, but hell, this can revive a fucking corpse and make it dance a little! I just want to see these guys play live. There is plenty of catchy energy in their music and I find it hard to stand still when this album is on. Polish-sung lyrics is something special here – what I don’t like is the lack of these in the booklet which looks a bit poor, as it consists of a few pages. Not too cool. I know Putrid Cult have taught us to expect simplicity in what they release but come on, this is too far, indeed. Still, the music is awesome, I do enjoy listening to it. I think Poland needs more bands like this one. Ok, we have got a number of similar bands, the bands who deal with this sort of “drunken rock’n’roll” but this is GRAVELORD who has gotten to the very core of this kind of music, in my view. You know they add this devilish element to what they do, and this works out awesome. Simple to the bone, sincere stuff with dark humor is catchy and appropriate for any metal fans there are. Give this band a chance and listen to their cd, right fucking now.
