After a two-year hiatus, COMMUNION from Chile has attacked again with their two brand new albums within the span of one year. Let us focus on the At the Announcement album which was the first one to show up. Right from the very beginning, you can notice that production-wise this stuff is better than their 2010’s ep. I do love that ep’s underground atmosphere, but hell, I will be frank with you and say this is fun to listen to this cd. At the Announcement, a far better polished-up stuff than the previous one is still the veryCOMMUNION we know, and, in fact, this stuff is full of devil himself – which is the very essence of this kind of music. Additionally, the energy this music radiates with is another positive element here. This material is speedy, can’t be denied. And quite short, as these 11 tracks clocks in 27 minutes. Not enough, I tell you. And this is good, too. This band have progressed through years, as these tracks are quite elaborated. The vibe is amazing, and deeply rooted in the 80s style. You know, black/thrash music to the bone. Plenty of SARCOFAGOinfluences. Hellavenger is gone, but these new guitarists are doing ok. We must noteCOMMUNION is a different band from what it was on their demos and legendary 2010 ep. Different means better? Well, hard to say as Deathmessiah has definitely changed this band. The music has undeniably progressed. Get this cd as well as any other (earlier) recordings ofCOMMUNION too. This music is good.
