ENTRENCHT hrough the Walls of Flesh (I Hate Records, 2017)

All right, so this is ENTRENCH`s third album. And as previously, what they`ve come up with is a nice slab of old-school music. You can easily hear what can be called the essence of so called Teutonic thrash; the vocals, for instance, are a nice blend of classic KREATORand SODOM, no doubt. Some slight SLAYER`ish (Show No Mercyand/or Hell Awaits) influences are quitepalpable too. This album can be consumed raw, yes. This stuff is simple and crude but suffused with energy and, trust me on this, is simply riveting. What is good these tracks don’t merge into one, we have plenty of good riffs, some slower, march-like tempos which allow us to take a breather after faster, more thrashy parts. The last track (Fragments/Shadow of Death) is surprisingly influenced by Marcolin`s era of CANDLEMASS(guitars). Nice! Intentionalor not, this works perfect for me. Surprising, really. This album is solid, good, recommended in other words. the album cover is heavily influenced by old KREATOR/SODOMalbums, inspired, but not copied from those. A new fresh approach with skilful retaining much of old vibe, so to speak. Really amazing.
