Metal on Metal`s catalogue stands for quality, that’s for sure. They`ve been dealing with good music for years, so it comes as no surprise The Golden Age of Black Magick has been released through the said label. This album is a piece of awesome old-school heavy metal, a really pleasant experience. What is more, IGNITOR has been active for 18 years, adding their own fuel to Metal Fire…the band are from the USA and The Golden is their 7^th full length album to date. These Texans have been, throughout years,tirelessly, holding the heavy metal banner high, getting their positioneven stronger, with each and every album.

The GoldenAge is a very interesting piece of music, comparable to JUDAS PRIEST, PRIMAL FEAR and GAMMA RAY in my opinion. Not only because of Jason McMaster`s powerful vocals, so similar to Ralf Sheepers and Ripper Owens but also due to strong, awesome guitars that make this album very aggressive and similar to their European counterparts; rather thanAmerican compatriots(who are usuallyrather softerandmuch very melodic). Of course, there are exceptions, but the European bands are,by and large,rougher and harder (sound-wise). IGNITOR managed, very skillfully, to incorporate these Old Continent`s ideas into their vision of music and, in result, we`ve been provided with such great songsas:Countess Apollyon,Tonightwe Ride or this stunning Executionwithout Trial. Unless you already have, well, get this stuff right now. you can’t go wrong with this album!
