HELLSPIKE- Lords of War CD Metal on Metal 2020

Another interesting album from Metal on Metal; this time we deal with HELLSPIKE from Portugal and their music is pure speed/thrash. And again, I am certain the label has plenty of good bands at their disposal. Indeed, there are no weak bands on their roster. Despite having being formed just 2 years ago, HELLSPIKE have already churned out a really decent debut album. These songs have plenty of untamed energy.

Venomous music, suffused with powerful, old-school riffs result in a very good, very interesting blend. I like this “three-man” type of bands since this is a very recipe for well-balanced music, not overly complicated….the music is, in consequence, usually more coherent and, I would say, better structured if compared against line ups featuring a higher number of musicians.

And Lords of War is a good example of such an approach: all perfectly balanced, there is thrashing, there are melodic parts, some original solos and very good, very unique vocals. Just from the first seconds of Titans` Clash you realize this is going to be a good, very pleasant “sonic”experience. Some other good songs are: very lively House of Austerion, epic Full Spectrum Dominance or the title song: Lords of War (slightly influenced by RUNNING WILD, in my opinion). Well, other tracks are awesome too, this album features no fillers! A really catchy piece of music!
