GRAVETY – Bow Down; CD, Metal On Metal, 2021

“Bow Down” is German GRAVETY`s second album, and these fellows are very keen on playing epic heavy metal – they do a really good job on this one, in my opinion.

Yes, it is true that their first full-length album was out over 10 years ago, but I was worth waiting for this “Bow Down”, the second output of theirs, coz this stuff is just perfect.

This music is very atmospheric and oozes of past ages, telling the lyrical tales of some fantasy land, the land of sword and magic.

These songs are indeed full of noble pathos. The vibe is similar to ALTOR, GRAND MAGUS, IRON SWORD or even MANOWAR`s. Is there anything more charming as for heavy metal? I don’t think so.

This is a purely jaw-dropping kind of stuff…the music itself ain`t too fast, I would say it’s fairly mid-paced and even quite slow here and there with this unique galloping guitars.

There is a lot going on in this music, no joke.

And this Kevin Portz`s vocal…man, his voice is a truly bright point on this album.

“Bow Down” stands for 41 minutes of excellent, epic heavy metal, plain and simple.

If this sort of music is your cup of tea, well, go get it right now. Very recommended.
