I am happy there are a number of ardent, young labels who worship the old school sound and thus keep releasing young bands inspired by the 80s. Destruktion Rex is run by Johannes Chan is a good example of such a label, indeed. 

It is a sheer pleasure to deal with his stuff, since his products are just well-made and awesome.

Yup, Johannes puts a lot of effort into his label and his releases; this is truly maniacal stuff released for other maniacs. 

And beside the awesome quality of his eps, demos and albums, the very bands themselves are always a good choice for any music collector.

The Peruvian PERVERSE RITES is definitely one of these bands. “Witchsluthunt” is their third release, recorded in 2020 and the band itself was born 12 years ago.

 It is relentless black/thrash with some old-school death metal influences here and there.

 Five very energetic songs and an intro taken from Stanley Kubrick`s cult movie – “Eyes Wide Shut”. This is a nice listen – plenty of energy, fury and untamed hatred here to enjoy. All well executed and the sound is very organic.

Very recommended, this “Witchsluthunt” - plain and simple.
